Worst first half iv seen the boys play so far. Second half much better, still lost owell there is always next week !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The commitment and performance are getting better and better .Yet again no complaints from me this was a tuff physical game well done to you all for keeping a level head when things got tuff .Have a good week off .

05th Oct 2008    V  Weymouth Cougers

After a opening goal by Ronney yet again the boys were on top with some solid defending and some good safe hands by William in goal, things were yet again looking good for the boys. A few golden chances weren't taken .Only 1-0 to the boys at half time .Second half Weymouth put the boys under pressure and a free kick to Weymouth eluded our defence to leave a easy tap in 1-1. 10mins later a lack of concentration left it 4 to 1 at the back 2-1 Weymouth. Not to many opportunities for the boys in the second half but a very spirited performance and every one giving 100% for each other .With key players missing the boys on the field held there own and were unlucky not to come away with something .  

28th Sep 2008

A 30YRD free kick after 10mins by Chris G went like a arrow into the top right hand corner giving the Okeford keeper no chance gave the boys a good start. Playing the game as the boys no that can they continued to pull Okeford apart Ronney  made it 2-0 10mins later ,Daniel W then scored his debut goal for Merley making it 3-0. Complacency then set in and some poor midfield play let Okeford back in the game with a speculative 20yrd shot being parried by the keeper and falling at the feet of an Okeford player to score 3-1 .Half time team talk was to encourage the boys to pass and move unfortunately this did sink in the first 15 mins of the second half and the boys found themselves at 3-3 .Something then twigged and the boys started to pass and move Ronney made it 4-3 and then quickly after Ronney made a great solo run and slotted home to make it 5-3 .With confidence running though the whole team some great football was being played with Daniel W scoring again 6-3 .Finally Ronney scored his 4th goal to make it 7-3 final Score .Mom when to Luke Watson who made a shaky start at centre back but very quickly got in the swing of his role and on numerous occasions made vital tackles and his covering was outstanding the art of this position is to read the game and on this occasion Luke did this like a pro well done LUKE !!!!!

 A goal after 20secs going to Daniel H  things were looking good for the boys with strong and decisive football being played .A mistake at the back let Poole in to bring the scores level but Daniel H slotted home again to regain the lead .Half time the boys were well in control of the game , indecisive finishing would cost them dear later in the game .Early in the Second half and Ronny Y made it 3-1 .Poole then became more physical and gave the boys a hard time in the middle of the park .Two goals in quick succession drew the scores level and the boys could not recover, two more goals flattered the opposition leaving the final score 5-3 .Overall a very determined and gutsy performance by the whole team .
