Match Reports
23rd January 2005 Merley Allendale 3 Okeford Utd 3
A very even game. All the boys played very well. Within 30 seconds of the start Deano scored for Merley. After 10 mins Okeford pulled one back. Great team passing and Stephen then went on to
score the second and third goal. 3-1 at half-time fantastic. Unfortunately in the second half our score was matched but not through lack of trying, loads of chances and the goal posts just
kept getting in the way! A very well earned point.
MOM: George Wescott - Goalkeeper
30th January 2005 Rossgarth 2 Merley Allendale 3
Within 5 minutes of the start of the game we were 1-0 up thanks to a great strike from Daniel Massieu-King. Rossgarth came back to level 1-1, despite some good passing between the boys
and Callum hitting the bar. During the second half our second goal was scored by Stephen after great passing from Callum and Dean. The third goal, scored by Dean, was achieved by quick
thinking. Being 3-1 up at this point Rossgarth managed to get another one back producing the final result. A great game boys, 3 well deserved points.
MOM: Chris Goldsmith 6th March 2005 Merley Allendale 1
Sherborne 2
Merley started the brighter of the two sides but couldn’t find the net
with a goalless first half.
Sherborne broke the deadlock midway through the second half and put them
1-0 up. However Merley had other ideas and responded instantly as Billy
Joyce scored the equalizer, but it was Sherborne who scored the winning
goal.
MOM: Jonathon Pike
20th March 2005 Blandford Utd 1 Merley Allendale 4
Merley started well with great passing between the players and within 10
minutes Stephen Godfrey scored. 1 minute later Dean Donovan went on to
score the second and an own goal produced a half time result of 3-0 to
Merley.
Second-half kicking down hill all the boys played great football. After
just 5 minutes Stephen Godfrey scores his second goal giving 4 goals to
Merley. Too comfortable with the score Blandford sneak one back!
MOM: Daniel Hughes
? 2005 Weymouth Colts 3 Merley Allendale 1
Three goals in the first 15 minutes cost us dear. Dean pulled one back
for Merley with a spot free kick, giving a half-time result of 3-1
down. During the second half the boys came out fighting with some good
team passing. Credit to our goalkeeper George Wescott who made some
tremendous saves during this well fought second half. Final score 3-1 to
Weymouth. 3rd April 2005 Lytchett 1
Merley Allendale 1
Last game of the season and a very well played game by all. Chris
Goldsmith was our stand-in goal keeper who kept us in the game with some
great saves. Stephen Godfrey was running riot down through the middle
of the field scoring in the first 15 minutes. 5 minutes later Lytchett
pull one back due to a mistake in defence. Half time score 1-1. The
second half of the game produced some good football from both teams and
Merley performed some good passing from end to end with a missed
opportunity with the ball hitting the bar.
MOM: Callum Perry
Many thanks to the parents, brothers, sisters and
grand-parents for all their support throughout the season, may it
continue through to Season 05-06.
